Insight: Only 3 states in the United States have laws for affirmative consent and only 5 states have laws to support victims of marital rape.
Big Idea: Advocate to talk about consent early AND continue to openly speak about it as kids get older in college, work, and with family.
This was my final project for the first session of the Texas Creative Sequence. YWCA is a brand very close to my heart — the YWCA Silicon Valley was my first introduction to women’s rights and advocacy and was where I received my counselor training at 16 years old.
For the project, I choose to focus on centering on three target audiences: college students, relatives, and parents who could speak to their kids. Within all of the audiences I wanted the goal to remain the same: advocating for affirmative consent in a fun and digestible way through the YWCA.
